Giving Back
The reason I have not posted in a while is mainly due to the fact I’ve had nothing significant happen. It has just been the same old things on different days. I thought it is about time for an update and something new for my visitors to comment on.
I went to my first knitting group last Monday. I found out about this group though Ravelry. I saw a message board posting with the title of the area in which I live asking if anyone wanted to meet up and knit together. It was fun, as most of the ladies there were older but not by that much. They were all more advanced than me, and I was the only loomer. I want to learn to knit and they did offer to teach me once I buy myself some needles. I think I will stick with my Loom for a little while longer, as I am really starting to kick ass. During the knitting get together, I started on my first pair of socks. I am done the top and ankle part, I just need to start on the heal and then the toe and I am done. They are starting to look great, the only annoying part is that I am making the pattern up as as I go along and I have not written anything down, so making the matching twin is going to be difficult.
The weather is currently beautiful outside, and I am about to go out and pick up my buddy Kimm so she can accompany me door to door canvasing for the Canadian Cancer Society. I had signed up back in January to be a volunteer canvaser, as April is Cancer Awareness Month, also known as Daffodil Month. I have been assigned an area of 20 houses in my moms neighbourhood. This is all apart of my news years resolution to Volunteer and get involved with making a difference in fighting Cancer, as we all have been affected by cancer, directly or indirectly. And that’s a real reason to give back.

I bought knitting needles over the summer and I tried, I really tried, but apparently I suck at knitting. I gave up very quickly, lol.

I also tried my hand at knitting and sucked quite badly so I gave up. It was awful!
