Where have I been?

This last week or so has been a blast!

Last Friday (Jan. 18) Bryan and I headed up to Green Lake again. Our friends had already left much earlier that day as I was unable to get Friday off from work, though I did mange to get off work 45min early. We drove though the night and arrived at around 11:30pm. We only stopped for a quick bite to eat (which we ate in the truck) and a few times for gas and coffees.

The first morning we were anxious to jump onto the snowmobiles again and head out. It was over cast skies and snowing lightly. In minus 5 °C while riding on the snowmobiles the wind chill really gets up there quickly. It felt like minus -20 or more! It was such a great feeling to know that I was on such a great mini holiday, and that I did not have to return to the real world and big city life until the following Wednesday.

We spent basically every waking daylight hour on the snowmobiles, or playing out in the snow. At night the temperature would dip to below minus 30°C! Inside your nose would freeze almost instantly and your boogers would feel extremely! On one of the nights we had a campfire down near the frozen lake side. It was a lot of fun and I did not want to leave the warm comforts of the fire to head the 30 or so feet into the house.

On our last day we left a little later than we wanted to as we did have a 7+ hour drive ahead of us. We spent our last day going on a snowmobile trail ride. Finding all sorts of winter wonderland wilderness. We even came across some Moose tracks! I did manage to take a bunch of pictures while riding on the back as my friend drove the snowmobile.

I have uploaded all my pictures to my flickr account, here is a select few of them. Feel free to check out the rest of them.
