Daylight Saving

I am so confused, what time is it? A Calendar I have in the house says that we change our clocks, yet everywhere that I read on the internet says that we do not change our clocks until the first Sunday in November. I always thought we changed on the last Sunday in October. Since when did the rules change? Hopefully I am not late for work because of this!

I managed to get my letter of reference from my boss the other day. She had originally gave me a copy and did not sign it, but told me to “Go over it” so I did. I went home and edited it, and changed around some of the grammatical things, as well as some spelling. I then emailed what I had changed to my boss only to have her approach me and ask me “What The!?” apparently she was offended, and taken back by the fact that I had edited it. She had told me to go over it, and that is what I did. I changed things into paragraphs so it looks more “organized”. It could just have been the perfectionist in me, but honestly I felt really awkward for the rest of the day, and well I still do.

I want to mail out my things today, as I have everything done. I just hope I get my ass into gear and head to the post office. I am going to take everything with me, and then after work head to the post office to get a proper sized envelope, and pay for the postage, then I will be finished.

This past Halloween weekend was rather low key and well sort of on the boring side. A friend of Bryan’s normally has a Halloween party, but this year it was a no go simply because the girl who normally arranges most of it moved out of that house recently. We had no where to go, and well no costumes. We hardly put any effort into thinking up ideas for a costume once we found out that our regular party was a no go. We did end up driving into Vancouver and found a fireworks store. The bylaws in Richmond say that there is to be no sales of fireworks, so we just had to head over the bridge. We had originally in tended to spend twenty dollars each on fireworks, but my bill ended up being a little over thirty! It was great fun. We ended up heading down to Spanish Banks beach, and lite a bunch of them off. It sure was a random and spontaneous adventure. We then went back to our friends house in hopes of sharing our fireworks joy with them, only for them to turn us down as they recently moved into their new place and were not wanting to piss off their neighbours. At least me and Bryan still have a bunch left. We are planning on heading out on Halloween and setting the rest of them off in the park near our house.

We even went swimming last night. It was a lot of fun. We went after dinner and stayed almost until the closing time. We have been talking recently how we have become these stay at home folks who hardly get out and do anything anymore. This swimming thing will hopefully get us out of the house more often together. As it is cheap and fun! We spent most of the time playing catch with a ball we found, trying all sorts of various dive jump catches or trying to actually hit each other with the ball. The water slides were fun, but the bumps and sections between each part of the slide really hurt my back, I also am very proud of myself. I went off the rope swing. I tried to go off a rope swing in the summer time while we were on holidays at a lake and I chickened out. I managed to go off the rope swing in the pool with hardly any troubles at all. I think it all has to do with the fact of being able to see the bottom, and knowing that I am in the safety of a swimming pool rather than some unknown lake.

I’m a little confused about the time change as well. Everything says it’s changed on the 4th of November (as well as my calendar). But me and my friend’s clocks changed. My friend said it was to give Trick-or-Treaters more daylight but that makes no sense. Thanksgiving is usually the last Thursday of November, but it’s the next to last Thursday. Quite confusing.
