Yesterday was a great day at work. We took the children to the Vancouver Children’s Festival. Where we went and watched Charlotte Diamond perform.
I grew up listening to all of Charlotte Diamond’s songs, so it was such a time warp for me to be there watching her sing her songs. It was awesome seeing her in concert, I had such a blast singing along to her classics and I know all of the children enjoyed themselfs as well.
At one point during the show there were volunteers. Alot of staff from my centere were called and picked upon. At the end of the show I was wanting to be a volunteer so bad that a co-worker of mine told me to just go up and that she would watch the boy I care for. I quickly darted up, and I actually got to dance with her up on stage while she sang “La Bamba!” There were three other adult volunteers with me, one of them was a fellow co-worker so that made it alot more fun! I even got to wear her “Dicky Dinosaur” hat and sunglasses! Wee….
I have never been so excited to go up on stage with any show! I’m such a dork! Though to any parents out there reading this with little ones, I highly recommend Charlotte Diamond’s songs, they are lots of fun! Especially singing along with “I am a Pizza”, “Octopus (Slippery Fish)” and even my all time favorite “May There Always Be Sunshine”

I’m sure I’ve heard her songs, but I can’t place them. These days my son is into “ridin’ dirty”, and fergie “glamorous”, haha

knowing you, you’d be up on the stage dancing away..
then again we grew up listening to her music and seeing her live for years, just wait until we have kids

I haven’t heard of her but I know what you mean about getting all excited over childhood songs. I love this whole soundtrack by Carol King for a movie and I can’t remember exactly but I think it was called Chicken Soup With Rice. I really loved that. I downloaded the songs but Sydney isn’t even into it at all. I should get her the movie.
