Today has gone a lot different than expected. I was up most of the night tossing and turning, stressing over what was going to happen today. I went to work for an hour and a half, then headed over to my mom’s place. I called my uncle once I left work, and my brother to find out what was going on. Turns out my mom would not be ready to leave the hospital until around 11:30!

I told my uncle that I was wanting to go with him when he went to pick her up, and thankfully enough he accepted and actually did come and pick me up when it was time. Though he “forgot” to phone/text my brother that he was going to do that, but luckly I phoned my brother to tell him what was going on. I can only imagine how my brother has felt, being left out not knowing, as he was there when they took her to the hospital. yuck.

During the drive to the hospital to get my mom my aunt continued on and on about how when my mom gets home, I need to do this, and that. Obviously! I know how to take care of someone. It was almost to the point that I wanted to say something but I did not want to be disrespectful to her, as I realize she is stressed as well. Once we arrive, and walked into the hospital and went over to the “hospital day care/out patient recovery area” we saw my mom standing there, hardly out of it at all! I was expecting her to be groggy and a little out of it. The only thing was that her voice was scratchy as they had to put a tube down her throat for the procedure.

During the drive home my aunt continued on her “how to take care of my mom” speech, and talking to my mom how she needs to sleep, and call her if she needs anything, etc, etc… As soon as they dropped us back at my mom’s place my mom turned me and asked me “what do you want to do for lunch?”. I told her I could dash away to the store quickly to pick up something at the store for her, but she turned that idea down instantly, she wanted to head out to a restaurant. We went to a local pub for some yummy lunch foods. My brother came by my mom’s place after our lunch, he would have joined us except he has been crazy busy with work today.

Today has gone so well. My mom has not wanted to rest since she came home. The only “negative” is that my mom just approached me and told me that her pee was blue! (tmi – sorry!)

Now all we have to do now is wait, for more test results. *fingers crossed* that her cancer has not spread into her lymph nods. The women my mom spoke to on the phone recently, as she had some after care questions, was that if the test results come back early, it does not mean anything bad. Just that they were done sooner than expected.

I am still staying here tonight, and plan to make some hamburgers for dinner and also make us some delicious breakfast in the morning. Plus tomorrow is Canada Day, so total party party time! What are your plans for tomorrow?

Cancer – It is such a powerful word when you hear it. It brings up so many different emotions in so many different people. It is one word that makes a large majority of the earthly population cringe when they hear it. Though it is also can be a word of hope. For example my [...]
